CITB SITE SUPERVISION SAFETY TRAINING SCHEME (SSSTS)

This course is for you if you’re considering, or already have supervisory responsibilities.

These 4 eLearning courses will teach learners the key concepts of health and safety:

  • Explain and understand fully what 'working safely' means.
  • Improve safety performance.
  • Explain the component parts of a recognised safety management system (HSG65).
  • Identify the techniques required to produce an adequate record of an incident and demonstrate the procedure for an accident investigation.
  • Describe statutory requirements for reporting incidents / accidents (RIDDOR).
  • Describe methods of basic trend and analysis for reactive and proactive monitoring.
  • Define ‘hazard’ and ‘risk’, and describe the legal requirements for risk assessment.
  • Demonstrate a practical understanding of a quantitative risk assessment technique and the data required for records.
  • Describe workplace risk control hierarchies.
  • Outline the main requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
  • Outline relevant health and safety legislation, codes of practice, guidance notes and information sources such as the Health and Safety Executive.
  • Managers and Supervisors in the construction sector who are required to manage risk and resources within their organisation.
  • This is a face-to-face course with a duration of 2 days.
  • On successful of this course, you will gain a CITB qualification, the industry training board for the construction sector in England, Scotland, and Wales. You will receive a certificate acknowledging your course of study, which can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit.

CITB SITE MANAGEMENT SAFETY TRAINING SCHEME (SMSTS)

This course is for you if you’re considering, or already have responsibilities for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff, for example, Site Manager.

Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a course which covers all relevant legislation affecting safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries.
It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture within the workforce.

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Explain and understand fully what 'working safely' means.

CITB SITE ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS TRAINING SCHEME (SEATS)

This interactive course is for you if you’re a Site Supervisor or Manager in need of an introduction to environmental issues on construction sites.

Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme is a course designed to meet the basic environmental knowledge that the sub-contract chain is required to prove to major contractors.
The course will introduce you to the latest environmental and sustainability knowledge by giving a thorough overview of the subject, relevant legislation and industry best practices. SEATS will enable students to identify, control and minimise the environmental impacts of their work and where possible, identify environmental improvement opportunities.

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
