Description

The Fire Safety Order has given industry-specific guidance on how to proactively manage fire safety in the workplace. We are required to take care of our employees, visitors and those who may come into contact with our activities.

Effective management of day-to-day fire safety, maintenance of records, fire risk assessments and staff training is essential in any modern business. Attending this course will take you through the practical application of the Fire Safety Order in your area of responsibility and how to implement it, giving you the vital information to comply.

Who should attend

This course is appropriate for all supervisors and managers with duties under the Fire Safety Order 2005 acting as Responsible Persons.

Aims & Objectives

To provide and develop the knowledge and skills of Managers and Supervisors of their duties under the FRO and should enable delegates to identify “fit for purpose” Fire Risk Assessments and carry out a basic low risk Fire Risk Assessment.

 

On successful completion of this course, delegates should be able to:

 Understand the importance of fire safety and risk assessment in the workplace.

Identify Fire Legislation including the definition and identify the role of the responsible person.

Understand the principles of fire risk assessment.

Identify relevant procedures, responsibilities and duties.

Apply findings from Risk Assessment.

Undertake a low/medium fire risk assessments.

Accreditation/Assessment

This programme is linked to the requirements laid down by the Fire Safety Order 2005 and is assessed through a multi choice and written question paper and a Workplace Fire Risk Assessment carried out by the student using our standard template. Successful students will receive an IOSH certificate.

 

Accredited stamp

This course is accredited by IOSH. Each delegate that passes the end of course Assessments will receive a IOSH Certificate.
